I fell in love with a spy.

No, he didn’t reveal his identity.

Everyone has a fantasy for falling in love with the toxic guy, the bad guys, guys who make us say “Daddy” every time we see them. And 99% of the time I have seen these fantasies come true.

I was a girl who always liked men of a certain age and definitely a man who loved keeping himself fit and not being a garbage eater. If you ever think Indian men are good at keeping themselves fit and eating good healthy food, you are absolutely wrong. Indian men that I have come across in my life are lazy couch potatoes who don’t just eat unhealthy food but also those assess who is known for doing nothing in life. For a woman of 30, any man is not an option. Yes, my mother says I'm going to be the picky bitch who might die alone.

Maybe, I will die alone. But a guy who doesn’t love his body or even respect good healthy food should be punished in hell.

So how did I land on this spy? It all started on my best friend's birthday on the 7th of January 2022. It was a regular snowy night in Toronto. We went to this beer place downtown to celebrate her 30th birthday. As we were regulars at that place we picked the window seat, we were 5 girls and 2 guys. When we entered the bar, it has very few tables filled. He was at one of those corner tables with one of his guy friends having whiskey on rocks. After four or five rounds of our drink, we started dancing like every drunk person in the bar.

There he was holding a glass of whiskey looking at me from across the room. The only things I could notice were his black leather jacket and blue jeans. How did I notice him?

In a bar filled with people, on a regular weekend. People come to a bar to enjoy themselves. The minute I landed on that dance floor, it was not just him there were so many other guys who stared at me. But his stare was different. He was trying to analyze me, just the way I was trying to analyze him.

After 15–20 minutes of all the hide and seek we played. He made a move, he got off his place and made his way towards me. Neversouly I walked to the bar to get myself another drink, he followed.

“Hey.”, he said from behind. With that happy grin on my face.

I held my drink in hand and turned and said “Hey.!”

He leaned towards me said, “I know I’m not supposed to say this, but you look beautiful than the birthday girl”

And there it was the epic pick-up line. We sat in that bar until 2 in the morning and spoke everything that came to our minds. From aliens to the cutest babies. For 4 hours as we did was just to speak.

Finally, it was time to get back to normal life. The normal can be defined differently for everyone. My normal was to have a secret life that even my best friend didn’t know that I was a spy. The normal to him as he felt that I was just another normal girl who he thought I could be picked up in a bar and date him for a while.

He fell in love with my personality, I fell in love with his freedom.!
